A. Background
Sociology of literature according to Ian Watt (Damono, 1979: 3) is the Malay community as a mirror, which is to be the extent to which literature is seen as the reflection community. Based on the opinion can be seen the influence of socio-cultural in a society that can affect a work of literature. This is the opinion senada Junus Umar (1986:3) revealed that the speech in which the research literature is sociology socio-cultural influence on the creation of works of literature, for example, the approach Taine associated with the nation, and the approach Marxis associated with class antagonism.
In Japanese culture there are all kinds of ideology, we can find novels in Japan, even if we felt directly in touch with the people of Japan. In novels that berlatarkan Japan Japanese life, especially if in the era of Samurai bersetting we will find a lot of ideology is, for example, Giri, Gimu, On, and Bushido1. This is in accordance with the opinion Sapardi Djoko Damono (1978) show that the image of Malay life, and life itself is a social reality.
Japanese people have a difference sense of gratitude for the assistance or feel that given the people, the people of Indonesia. In Indonesia, if we are assisted and that felt really means, we will try to reply as soon as possible with a variety of ways, for example, if the parents, aided by a pass in the favorite son to school then the parents will give something as a thank greeting, usually with the present food or give a gift. If the aid is small as ditraktir ice, we simply grateful. But Japanese is not so, any little help they can feel they are beholden, and try to respond as soon as possible. And if you can not respond, for example, help from people who do not return the wallet is known as the drop does not only say they Arigato gozaimasu (thank) but followed Sumimasen (sorry). The word 'terimasih' memawakili sense of gratitude the assistance provided, the word 'sorry' for pardon have been making, and I can not respond.
In the novel Botchan I talk about moral values Reply (ON) and how the main character (Botchan) On the sense of the people who have gave him a good feeling angry because the evil deeds done on the person himself.
